Going as far back as Newport’s first hospital in 1924 (Orleans County Memorial Hospital), North Country Hospital’s volunteers have promoted and advanced the welfare of the patients, family and staff of the hospital. Starting with only a handful of dedicated ladies from the Ladies Reading Club over 100 years ago, the volunteer base is now well over 50.

Our volunteers serve at many locations, most visibly, the main hospital Welcome Desk, Gift Shop, and as waiting room hosts and hostesses.

Most of our volunteers contribute one four-hour shift per week and help us to raise funds for charitable donations. As a group they contribute over 8000 hours per year.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer for North Country, please fill out an online application or contact the Volunteer Services office at (802) 334-3286
